Supporting Infrastructure

While a lot of hard and soft support exists for exports, little of it is geared towards services. The Business Development Organizations or Small and Medium Enterprise Development Organizations are only now just starting to consider service exporters, hence, the exporters themselves have formed their own associations in order to help themselves. However, the Philippine Exporters Confederation Inc. (PHILEXPORT)   and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) (as the biggest organization of exporters and SME firms, respectively) have signified their commitment to Service Exports by their active support to the PSC.

No specific financing packages are offered to service exporters, rather they are evaluated just like the other business enterprises.

Electric power is available and reliable. Complaints still arise, though, from the power rates which are considered high by businesses.

Telecommunications infrastructure is considered very good, and is in fact one of the best enablers in the development and improvement of service exports. However, continuing investments by the providers is needed, to make sure that no areas will encounter bottlenecks as demand for bandwidth rises.
