Contributions by SMEs
Professionals are being encouraged to double as entrepreneurs, and majority of these operations are SMEs. Except for the large telecommunications companies, the rest of the players can all be considered as SMEs. This is a reflection of the whole Philippine economy, where 99.6 percent of all companies are SMEs. The Philippine SME Agenda is detailed in the DTI Action Agenda, derived from the 2004-2010 SME Development Plan.

Provincial Centers
Urban centers outside of Metro Manila are rushing to promote their areas as prime locations for the service sectors. Development of the sectors will maximize utility of the infrastructure that is already in place. This is an offshoot of the 2005 initiative called the Philippine CyberServices Corridor.
